20th Annual National Learn to Row Day—Saturday, June 5, 2021
(Tentative date pending Covid restrictions.)
We invite you to join us this year on Saturday, June 5 from 8-11am for a free introduction to rowing at the Wequaquet Lake Town Beach. Discover the basics of the rowing stroke on the ergometer, the same indoor rowing machine used by Olympic rowers and budding high school athletes alike. Learn about the boats and some of the crazy vocabulary that rowers use (like “catching a crab”), then hop in a boat with some of our experienced members and take a short tour of the lake.
Planning on joining us for a morning of rowing fun? Please wear comfortable athletic clothing that's not too loose, and bring a pair of socks to wear in the boat. Shorts are best, as you will be wading knee-deep in water to get into the boat. Participants who enjoy their experience will have the opportunity to sign up for a Learn to Row beginner clinic.
Sponsored by USRowing and Concept 2, National Learn to Row Day is held annually at rowing clubs and health clubs around the country on the first Saturday of June.
