National Learn to Row Day 2019—Saturday, June 8

Cape Cod Rowing will conduct a free mini rowing lesson. The event takes place from 8-11 am, at the Wequaquet Lake Town Beach on Shootflying Hill Road in Centerville.

Participants are asked to wear comfortable athletic clothing that's not too loose, and to bring a pair of socks to wear in the boat. Shorts are best, as they will have to wade knee deep in the lake to get into the boat. Club members will demonstrate rowing technique first on an ergometer (rowing machine), and then in a rowing shell.

Those who enjoy their experience are encouraged to sign up for a Learn to Row beginner clinic. Clinics will be held June 3-19, June 15-July 7 and July 1-17.

National Learn to Row Day 2018

Cape Cod Rowing held another successful Learn to Row Day on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Participants were given technique lessons on ergometers (rowing machines), then had an opportunity to spend time on Wequaquet Lake in an eight-person shell with several experienced rowers and a coxswain.

The weather cooperated perfectly—it was sunny, warm, and for most of the morning, not too windy, with very calm water.
