Learn to Row

Our eight-session clinics will take you through the basics of rowing, practicing first on ergometers (rowing machines), then on the water in an eight-person shell with a coxswain, who navigates the boat. Each rower holds a single oar and is either a port or a starboard, depending on which side of the boat their oar sticks out. Sculling—where each rower holds a pair of oars—will also be covered during the course, initially in a quad (four rowers). Coaches will ride along side in a launch to critique and advise on technique.

Due to the coronavirus, ALL sessions have been cancelled. We hope to see you in 2021!

Intermediate Coaching

(optional, $125)

While we strongly recommend that rowers sign up to row with the masters once they have completed their Learn to Row clinic, we also offer additional coaching for those who have completed sessions 1 or 2, or have some prior rowing experience.

Youth Rowing

CCR does not currently offer youth rowing clinics. Those in grades 6 through 12 can learn to row with Cape Youth Rowing at http://capecodyouthrowing.org/

Cancellation Policy

For all Learn-to-Row and novice coaching programs, Cape Cod Rowing reserves the right to cancel a program if too few rowers are registered. Participants will be notified in advance of the first session in the event a program is cancelled and a refund or credit towards a future program will be granted.
