LEARN TO ROW IN 2025

Our eight-morning sessions will take you through the basics of rowing, practicing first on land-based rowing machines, and then on the water in an eight-person shell with a coxswain who navigates the boat. Each rower holds a single oar, which is mounted either on the port side or starboard side of the boat.

Sculling—where each rower holds a pair of oars—will also be covered during the course, initially in a four-person shell. Coaches will ride alongside in a launch to instruct on the elements of proper technique, as well as boat handling and terminology.  Participants are required to adhere to CDC recommended guidelines if exposed to or testing positive for Covid-19. Open to ages 18+
