Rowing is a sport where you are learning and refining your skills all the time. At Cape Cod Rowing, we offer summer-long coaching for learn-to-row and intermediate rowers, as well as the opportunity for different instructional perspectives brought by guest coaches. Our guest coaches have included world-class rower / Hydrow trainer James Dietz, and Tom Siddall, CRI and Assistant Rowing Coach at Tufts University.

Alex Machi’s distinguished career coaching scullers and sweep rowers at all levels has spanned four decades. Since 2009, he has been the Head Men's and Women's Crew Coach at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Prior to Mass Maritime, he was head crew coach at Middlebury College for 13 years, and head coach and director at Florida Rowing Center for eight years. He also briefly coached at Union Boat Club and Harvard University, as well as several stints at Craftsbury Rowing Center.

Alex has coached adult Learn to Row and intermediate masters rowers as well as summer college rowers at Cape Cod Rowing for the past five years.

In 2023, we welcome Bob Brady as coach for experienced masters during the summer rowing season. Currently in his fifth year as Head Coach of the men’s and women’s rowing program at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, Coach Brady brings a wealth of experience coaching masters, both at Capital Rowing Club in Washington D.C. from 2008-2016, and Central Connecticut Rowing. He has coached collegiate teams to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Regatta, the NCAA Women's Rowing Championships, as well as the Mid Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championship.
