We are justly proud of our pink boat charity, whose mission statement is: To raise awareness of and funds to fight the scourge of Breast Cancer  Our girl's first eight races in the finest racing shell in the world, designed specifically for high school girls, a hand laid, all carbon, ultra-light Resolute Racing Shell. She has been painted pink and christened "One in Eight" reflecting the awful incidence of this disease, which unfortunately has a particularly high rate of occurrence in Cape Cod. It seems unimaginable when you see a crew of such healthy young women, powerfully and gracefully racing this boat, that statistics suggest that at least one of them will develop breast cancer in their lives. Our aim is to raise awareness of the disease, as well as choices young women can make to help prevent ever contracting it, not just in our club, but at the regattas we attend and hopefully soon the entire rowing community and beyond.
