First real sunny day :)

The boys and girls enjoyed yesterday's sun while teaming up and doing an erg/run relay race.  If only we can keep the sun and the temps all spring season...

Capture the flag anyone?

Calling all Rowers

Hello Rowers,

Let me be the first to say that I am very excited about the spring season coming up!  For those that don’t know me, my name is Mike Baker and I am the new Program Director and Head Coach of Cape Cod Rowing.  With the help of the Coaching Staff and Board of Directors, we have yet another well-organized season ahead of us, but it’ll be here quicker than you think…

The schools that we compete against will be hard at work this month, exercising to get rid of all of the cobwebs formed over the winter.  And that is exactly what pre-season is for.  So, I ask you to come and join us for pre-season training at the Barnstable High School Cardio Room.  Our conditioning period will run for the month of March:  Monday-Thursday, 4:00-6:00pm.

Even though some of you may not have done too much exercise over the winter, THAT IS OKAY!  We will be easing you into shape…DON’T WORRY, YOU WILL NOT BE IN BOOT CAMP!

Training through this month is very important – it allows us to begin on the water in April already fit, so we can build our technique upon a solid fitness base.

As always, everything is more fun with friends… So don’t hesitate to grab a friend, grab a buddy, grab that kid in the hall – tell them they’ll be part of the ultimate team sport! And if they still need incentive?  Be proud to let them know: Cape Cod rowers have earned over $350,000 in college scholarships!

For more info about both the Pre-Season and all Spring Rowing Programs, check our web-site

If you have any other questions or concerns, you can email me directly or call.

Thank you and I hope to see you soon,

Mike Baker
